What is the scope of the Nitrogen MOOC?

The course is focused on ‘Nitrogen’ and the double-edged sword it represents for food and environmental security. The primary goal of the Nitrogen MOOC is to enhance knowledge and to learn on nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in the Indian farming sector. The scope of this MOOC will include reactive nitrogen (Nr) use and misuse globally, covering its myriad impacts, issues and benefits. The course will specifically address NUE in whole cropping systems, drawing on expertise and resources within NEWS India-UK. The aim is to provide users both with an appreciation of the importance of improved Nr management globally and with an understanding of the research challenges and applications central to NEWS India-UK.
